Past and Present Part I

I started to track If I'll find my first and so on songs and look what I did!

Band introduction: Mystinen Kala & Kädettömät Kalastajat

(rougly translated: Mystical Fish & Handless Fishermen).

Band was mine like first working one, and at the 'start' It was my friend 'Pyli' and guest-starring Rasse's humourband and just a play at start. Later on we actually succeeded to make some music. Which I may find some recordings. It turned later on with my friend Samppa joining up with vocals to somekind of child-minded humour music, best of all.

But MKKK's first song

First Song:" Eläimilläkin on oikeuksia" (animals have rights too)

Rasse or Pyli played with guitars this one pretty hypnotic pattern. And then I improvised in my flu-fever condition this punk-like song.

and the second song which was made and recorded at the same time:

Second song: "Valhetta ja Riitaa" (Rougly: Lies or quarrels)

Words are so touching, and well they just dont say anything. But well'o you gotta have that.

These songs were probably recorded at 19.02.2009.

And these were my 2rd and 3rd songs I ever recorded. First one was with Rasse, first day since he moved in as my flatmate we made a song about Facebook and Irc-gallery.

These songs are sung in FINNISH, yes my native language. Enjoy.

And then we'll move closer to present

My first own song All about the Rain.

This was my own first solo and made wholly by myself. Its about my relationship to rain, which I really love, yeah, mmm..

Anyways, at the moment this version was recorded at my friends home-studio, the song wasnt actually ready, and it was embarrasing as I was too confident I could improvise song to end, but I couldnt. So I actually made song to end a lot later, it has like 5-6 chords. But I still like it, nowdays yeah.

The First recording of: "All About the Rain"

I had no control over my voice, lovely technique using LOTS of throat, and hours of sucking up, this was made from few takes. Thank you for patient Tomas <3. Song was recorded at sometime during 2010. (later-end).

Lot of echo makes up for bad guitar playing, and gives room for mistakes in singing. Actually singing is pretty decent. I really like Glen Hansards songs.

And then, because I am and sadomasochist, I am linking something close.

Okay now we are getting to more recent ones!

A over a year ago I joined in a band called MeYouWe, it is an acoustic-pop-girl-band. 2010 december or something like that. And today I took creative pause from the band.

And we had our first gig at the early quarter of 2011. And we moved with speed-of-light forward. Making tons of songs, and now Ill give you link to our myspace. These were recorded during 2011 march, If I remember correctly.

Arvo Jean-Michael Represents: I Work With Voice

I Work With Voice

I work with voice, is a blog which will show my progress as an musician, and perhaps in other forms of art.

I will be making posts with links of my past music career, and my present form as an performer.

I will be posting links to me playing other instruments which I will be playing, and trying and so on. Then you, and me will be judges how much better I am at that moment, and how much improvement I am getting through.

This is kind of a self-study, and way for others to follow my progress, and how I do it.

And I will be posting personal feelings, how I feel at that moment, how is the progress making me feel, and what am I doing, and how does it kick me in good, or bad way.

What instrument do I work with?

I am mainly singer, but I have been accompanying mi'self with guitar for a while, and when I post this first post, I have been smashing drums for few weeks, just for gags.

Musical Backgrounds

I played violing my ages 6-13. And for years I yearned guitar from my father because, well you know guitar. I didn't get any.

I started to get interested about singing when I was 17. But point which I really think I started to sing was when I turned 18.

And now I have been singing seriously and been considering myself as singer for a about 2 years. As I started to play with my voice about 4 years ago.

At this moment, most of my skills come from playing with my voice. I have gotten tips from bit there, and here. And have taken about 2-3 singing lessons in past 2-3 years. And few good teachings from friends, and reading a lot. But mostly I have been playing with my voice, I actually at some point I learned to yodel, aye.

And I do consider myself good improviser, we have been street performing with my friends, improvised groovy music, and with my friend Juha we have played few improvisation band gigs.

So this is the starting point, and Ill add more to it later. Next post will contain my earlier work, and earliest, maybe Ill get something from these close-by days.
